Closed Chakras? How to Tell If You Have Them and What to Do

We hear a lot about chakras when it comes to spiritual and holistic health. Most often we hear about cleansing chakras and maintaining healthy open energy centers. But what happens if your chakras are closed? How can you tell and what can you do about it?

Open vs. Closed

Look up information regarding chakras and chances are you’ll come across much discussion about opening your chakras to connect with greater spiritual energy. And it’s true, healthy open chakras are powerful vortexes of energy. By keeping them open you are essentially downloading spiritual energy into your body for greater health, vitality and awareness.

One of the easiest ways to tell if any chakras are closed is to ask yourself how you feel. Are you experiencing fatigue?

But there’s another side to having open chakras that should serve as a caution. Without adequate psychic protection, open chakras can serve as an invitation to pick up negative or unwanted energies. Thus, cleansing and protection are of the utmost importance.

So what’s the deal with closed chakras? When one or more of the body’s energy centers are closed, it can lead to loss of vital energy, fatigue or even illness.

How to Tell If Chakras Are Closed

One of the easiest ways to tell if any chakras are closed is to ask yourself how you feel. Are you experiencing fatigue? What about illness or depression? Or maybe you just feel scattered or not “in” your body. These are all possible indications of closed chakras. Each of the seven major chakras also corresponds to specific areas of the body. So problems in your lower back could be related to your root chakra for example. Take a self-inventory and listen to your body.

If you’re still unsure about your body’s signals, working with a pendulum can help. Pendulums are normally made of crystal, metal or wood and are hung from a string or chain. You can even use a ring and a string as a makeshift pendulum. Hold your pendulum over the chakra in question and watch as it begins to move in circles. If the circles are very small and tight, the chakra is likely closed or not functioning well. On the other hand if the circles are wide, the chakra is open. You can also use the pendulum in a yes/no fashion.

If you need further confirmation as to the condition of your chakras, consider working with a psychic or energy healer. They have both the knowledge and experience to help you.

What to Do If Your Chakras Are Closed

If you find that any of your chakras are closed, don’t panic. You can easily work with them to get them functioning properly. Awareness is the first step. Just knowing that there is an issue already shifts your perception and thus your reality.

Start by doing some meditation or visualization exercises. See the chakra centers within your body as bright glowing vortexes of energy. For example, if working with your root chakra, see a clear red ball of light about 2- 4 inches in diameter glowing at the base of your spine. Visualize it spinning or pulsating while growing brighter. Continue this exercise for 5 to 10 minutes and do it daily for a week or so. Afterwards, check you chakra again and you should notice an improvement.

Prayer is another option to try. Petition Spirit, the Universe or your Higher Power to assist you in opening any closed chakras and balancing them. You may also choose to work with the angels or your spirit guides. Ask for help from Archangel Raphael who helps in all matters of healing.

You can also seek support from a psychic or energy healer. Not only are they adept at determining which chakras need help, they can also work on opening energetic blockages. Also look into Reiki and Reiki practitioners for this purpose. This is one of their specialties.

Closed and low functioning chakras are relatively common occurrences. With the right care and attitude they can easily be corrected. Be kind to yourself as you regain your vitality. Before you know it, you will achieve renewed levels of vim and vigor!
