Who couldn’t use a little more money these days? Many of us are still finding it challenging to meet those monthly bills and the economy isn’t always cooperative. Even for those of us who are doing pretty well, a little extra abundance is always nice. If you think it’s beyond your power to grow your wealth, think again. Working with money mantras can help you increase your prosperity.

What Is a Mantra?

A mantra is a word, a sound or phrase that one repeats over and over, generally to help concentration when meditating. The word mantra itself comes from Sanskrit and is composed of the root word “man” meaning mind or think and “tra” meaning tool or instrument. So essentially a mantra is a tool for the mind or an instrument of thought.

If you think it’s beyond your power to grow your wealth, think again. Working with money mantras can help you increase your prosperity.

The concept of using mantras originated from the Vedas or texts of ancient India and later influenced the development of Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism. And of course, mantras are now a common part of modern mainstream culture thanks to the popularity of yoga and meditation.

How and Why They Work

So how and why do mantras work? It seems hard to believe that merely repeating words can change your thoughts and your life, but they can.

First of all, mantras help to focus and quiet the mind. If you’re like most people you probably suffer from what Buddhists call, “ the monkey mind.” This is the constant barrage of thoughts jumping around in your head like monkeys—driving you crazy and preventing concentration. Using mantras can help alleviate this problem, bringing you peace and giving you a chance to focus on more important matters—like creating abundance.

The repetition of a mantra also works with the Law of Attraction. By echoing certain words over and over you create specific energy vibrations. These vibrations will then attract what you seek. It’s a case of like attracts like. Mantras can work as magnets to align your thoughts and attract what you want.

Money Mantras to Try

So if it’s prosperity you’re after, try working with some money mantras. Once you choose one you like, repeat your mantra for at least ten minutes a day. You can even break it up into two five-minute sessions. Continue this practice until your situation improves. You can even change mantras every few weeks. Here are some good money mantras you can experiment with:

I always have money.

I am making more money every day.

I am a money magnet.

I am debt free.

Abundance is my birthright.

My savings grow daily.

Moneymaking opportunities always come my way.

Prosperity follows me.

And if you’d like to try some traditional mantras, there are two that are known to be effective. The first one is a mantra that calls upon the Lakshmi, the Hindu Goddess of wealth and prosperity.

Om shrim maha lakshmiyei swaha

Phonetically it is pronounced: Om shreem ma-ha lahk-shmee-yay swah-ha

This mantra translates as hail or greeting to she who brings every form of abundance. Although many invoke the Goddess Lakshmi for assistance with material wealth, she is also the bringer of spiritual wealth and abundance.

The second traditional mantra is known as the Buddhist money mantra.

Om Vasudhare Svaha

Phonetically it is pronounced Om Wa Su Dha Rei Swa Ha.

This mantra is basically a prayer to the earth Goddess Vasudhara. It is suggested that you repeat this mantra 108 times. Even the Buddha said that anyone who memorizes this manta or even listens to it would be blessed by deities who will shower them with abundance.

So if you’re looking to increase your personal prosperity, try working with these money mantras for a richer life!
