Can Meditation Increase Your Sex Appeal?

When it comes to meditation, most people realize the benefits of feeling calmer and centered. Many meditators also achieve better sleep and mental functioning. And of course there are the spiritual benefits. But mention meditation and sex in the same sentence and it doesn’t seem quite right. However meditation can have positive effects on your sex life and attractiveness.

The Mind-Body Connection

We know that the mind and body are intimately connected. Meditation has positive effects on the body. Scientific studies have shown that it can reduce blood pressure and combat depression.

It is also very effective in reducing stress by decreasing cortisol and stress hormones within the body. Besides reducing the stress hormones, mediation increases endorphins or “feel good” hormones within the body.

The subtle chemical changes that go on within the body also change what goes on in the mind. The increase in endorphins boost your mood just like a “runner’s high.” You end up feeling happier and more positive. This will lead to a change in your thoughts and thinking patterns. They will lean towards the positive rather than the negative side.

Meditation has many benefits for body, mind and soul. Sex appeal is part of our total being, so why wouldn’t we want to improve that too? Aim to be attractive on all levels!

The Sex Appeal Factor

So how does sex appeal factor in with meditation? First, let’s consider the mind-body connection. If you achieve meditation’s benefits of better health, less stress and greater joy, that will show up in your appearance. People will see you as vibrant and positive. That’s definitely attractive! After all, don’t we find happy and healthy people to be sexier and more appealing?

Meditation also helps increase your sex appeal by keeping you focused. People who meditate learn to be mindful. They find it easier to keep their attention on a particular state of being. They are more aware of themselves and what goes on within. When you are centered that sends the signal of confidence out into the world. Don’t we look for mates who are self assured and know who they are?

The mindfulness developed through meditation also goes beyond a person’s inner world. When you learn to focus through meditation, that skill can be applied to other things. You can pay better attention to tasks, conversations and people. This heightened awareness can definitely be an asset when communicating with a partner. Isn’t it sexy when someone listens and shows that they are “into you?”

Take that mindfulness a step further when considering physical intimacy. If you learn to be more aware, you’ll also be more aware of your lovemaking experience. Stray thoughts about work, laundry and dinner are less likely if you stay in the present moment of love.

Meditation helps you develop the power to live in the present moment and feel the pleasure more intensely. Not only does that benefit you, it benefits your partner as they share in the experience. Sounds pretty appealing!

Meditation and Affirmations

Meditation can also help your sex appeal through the use of mantras and affirmations. Although not all forms of meditation require the use of a mantra, it can help. What is a mantra? It is a word or phrase that you repeat over and over either mentally or verbally as you meditate. “Om” is a common mantra used, but you can choose anything that resonates with you.

In a similar way, an affirmation is like a mantra. It is also repeated over and over, but it is a specific phrase tailored to your goal. It is always a positive statement and used in the present tense. Affirmations work with the Law of Attraction. By repeating your phrase you focus your intention on your goal and send that out into the Universe for manifestation. You will get more of the same.

You can use this technique in your meditation to increase your sex appeal. While meditating, repeat affirmations regarding your attractiveness. Try something like, “I feel sexy” or “I am attractive.” Experiment and see what works for you.
