Astrology Love Advice: Dating a Gemini

People born from the end of May to the end of June are born under the zodiac sign Gemini. Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, and its symbol is the Twins. This gives us great insight into the nature of their personality. Being aware of what’s under the surface of your Gemini can really help you understand the person you’re dating.

Dual Nature

Geminis are most famous for their complexities due to their dual nature. They have different sides to their personality, and you never know which is going to show up at any given time. One side is fun and lighthearted, the other side scornful and egocentric. At its worse, they can seem two-faced: a regular Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. On the one hand they can be happy and lighthearted, fun to be around. On the other hand, they can be egocentric and manipulative—and since they’re so charming it’s easy for them to get away with it and push boundaries.

This is why it's important to take time to get to know a Gemini well. You have to get to know the different sides to their personality before you can figure out if it's something you really want to live with. You can’t have the one side without the other. It comes as a package deal.

Being aware of what’s under the surface of your Gemini can really help you understand the person you’re dating.

This dual nature does give them some gifts, however. They’re like a chameleon— highly adaptable and versatile, they can learn to fit in and deal with just about any situation. They’re good at looking at things and understanding things from different perspectives—they can intuit and even anticipate a different point of view fairly easily.

Sense of Self

The person at the center of a Gemini’s world will most likely not be a lover, but themselves. It’s not necessarily a bad thing—they just have a very strong sense of self. They know what they want, and they feel life is for living, and there’s no point in settling. They can be self-pampering, materialistic and self-indulgent.

If they don’t get what they want, if things aren’t going in a way that makes them happy, they’re going to be the first one to let you know about it. They’re easygoing enough about a lot of things, so they won’t see why they have to compromise on what’s really important to them.

When things really go bad, they can be knocked for a loop. They can get worried, angry and pessimistic until they feel they can get a grip on the situation again and find a way to adjust to it.
Easily Bored

Geminis are very dynamic and active people. They’re highly social. They love social gatherings and activities, and are frequently “life of the party” types of people. They enjoy telling tales or jokes and getting people to hang on their every word. Alternately, they love to hang on other people’s words. Not ones for idle chit-chat or gossip, Geminis love to listen to other people’s deep thoughts, experiences and well-formulated opinions. Conversation is very entertaining to them.

They also love to get involved in a lot of things—they’re natural multi-taskers, so they’ll usually be involved in a number of projects at once. They’re always willing to make room in the schedule for something else—work, parties, travel, sports, or leisure activities. They thrive on being busy. They can seem flighty at times, but it’s really just that they need variety.

If you want to be with a Gemini, you have to have a lot of energy. Geminis expect you to keep up with them. If you think after a while you’re going to settle down and your evenings are going to be calm, quiet and routine—forget it. To a Gemini, that would be the worst kind of torture.
